AbleVets, LLC is a fast growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Information System Security Officer to support our customer. This position is located in on site with the customer in Las Vegas, NV.





Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities


The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) performs security services for Information Assurance and COMSEC programs in a SAP facility. Employs problem solving, task performance, and produces finished documentation; e.g., reports, special studies, policy and procedure development, security designs, training programs and assessments. Develops policies and procedures to ensure secure information reliability and accessibility and to prevent and safeguard against unauthorized access to information systems, networks, and data. Conducts system security evaluations, audits, and reviews and develops information system security plans and recovery procedures. Supports high intensity exercises and events which often include Joint and/or Coalition participants. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RM) and Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON)


• Knowledge of information security to include providing direct support and assistance in day-to-day administration of the overall SAP/SCI information security program


• SAP/SCI Classification and marking guidance and support


• Maintain multiple databases consisting of SAP/SCI TS documents and magnetic media stored within the facility. Knowledge of change-of-custodian policies and procedures


• Knowledge of SAP/SCI classified reproduction processing and classified destruction processing


• Knowledge of SAP/SCI Information Systems Security scope to include providing direct support and assistance in day-to-day administration of the Information Systems Security program


• Ensure development and maintenance of comprehensive SAP/SCI Systems Security Plans (SSP) and Profile Sheets (PS)


• Knowledge of SAP/SCI Cybersecurity measures


• Knowledge of developing and implementing SAP/SCI training processes


• Knowledge of COMSEC policies and procedures, COMCSEC OI and Emergency Action Plans/Tasks


• Knowledge and ability to conduct annual, semiannual, and quarterly Security Awareness, Training, and Education (SATE) training


• Provide Exercise/Event Security Support to the customer. May entail extended shifts or weekend work


• Experience working SAP/SCI programs in operational, test, and exercise environments is highly desired

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

• 7 years of related experience


• TS/SCI required. Willing to obtain and undergo a CI Polygraph


• DoD 8570.1 IAT Level III certification is required [CISSP (or Associate), CASP, CISA, GCED, GCIH]


• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RM) and Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON)


• Knowledge of information assurance guidance


• Knowledge of system security plans


• Knowledge of NIST


• Knowledge of systems administration and accreditation


• Knowledge of cyber security


• Knowledge of COMSEC


• Ability to interface with difficult clients and engage in a constructive manner


• Available to work before/after typical office hours as work may demand


• Independent self-starter, proactive, and professional assertive


• Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy


• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills


• Ability to multitask

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, strongly preferred
