Technical Writer/Project Analyst



AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated technical writing with Business Analysis experience to support healthcare information technology projects for our customers.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with both the Project Manager and Scrum team to prepare and maintain project documentation and deliverables as well as support other writing deliverables due per contractual obligations. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support all Build deliverables including but not limited to:
    • Production Operations Manual
    • Version Description Document
    • Deployment, Installation, Back out Guide
    • User Manual
  • May need to scribe meeting minutes
  • Work closely with Release Agent, Development Team, Testers and Project Manager to support necessary updates to deliverables


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience; degree in computer science a plus
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Proven success as an active team member in an Agile environment
  • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency and exposure to agile lifecycle development tools
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Selected candidates must be able to successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous Department of Veterans Affairs experience
  • IBM Rational Jazz or similar quality management software.
