  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Project Support Manager to support our customer in the implementation of a large, complex COTS implementation effort.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will have diverse IT project experience, both large and small, and must have an understanding of the full systems development life cycle, COTS integration, strategic information planning, business process reengineering, and management practices. The Project Support Manager will be responsible for the overall performance and success of a project task area including, but not limited to: the day-to-day management and support of functional tasks (e.g., change management, value management, communications) within the program to include deliverables development, customer relations, internal reporting, and risk management. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Managing the customer relationship and providing functional direction, guidance and recommendations
    • Identifying and mitigating risks to the program
    • Managing to cost, schedule, and performance for the functional workstream
    • Leading a team of junior analysts/consultants supporting functional task areas
    • Ensuring execution of quality deliverables within established schedules
    • Collaborating with teams across the customer organization to improve processes, results, and customer experience
    • Supporting definition, analysis and documentation of functional requirements and business processes
    • Responding to data calls and reporting requests, as well as development of project reporting materials

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline
    • Five (5) to eight (8) years of demonstrated and hands-on experience in project management of systems implementation efforts
    • Able to define and implement project metrics for scope, schedule, cost, and quality
    • Able to use project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, SharePoint and capacity models
    • Experience leveraging data and metrics to help drive decision making
    • Strong financial and budget management skills
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrable team building skills
    • PMP
    • Must be able to travel when needed
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

    Additional Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs
