    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated DevOps Engineer to support our VA customers.  This position is located in Chantilly, VA. 

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The successful candidate has thorough knowledge of enterprise continuous integration/continuous delivery solutions within a cloud computing environment, such as Amazon or Azure. This individual will be responsible for creating and enhancing CI/CD pipelines, maintaining Virtual Machine and Container Images, and various kinds of automation processes (build management, automated deployments, automated testing, configuration management) in order to improve software deployments. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: 

    • Implementation and maintenance of an enterprise Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery environment, artifact repository, and build server in an elastic cloud environment 
    • Design continuous integration best practices for the development team using Docker, Ansible, and Jenkins
    • Assisting development teams with build jobs and overall build management troubleshooting
    • Develop and implement a technology roadmap and engineer cloud-based solutions 
    • Implement multiple solutions and/or lead one or more engineers in developing solutions and migrating existing applications and services to the cloud

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline and 4 years of experience. 
    • 8 years can be substituted for degree 
    • At least 1 year of experience in object-oriented programming, debugging, and refactoring 
    • At least 5 years of experience with Python
    • At least 1 year of experience with the following toolsets: 
      • CI Server – Jenkins, Bamboo
      • Artifact Repositories – Nexus
      • Source Control – Git
      • Build Tools – Ant, Maven, Gradle
      • Application Servers –WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat 
      • Web Server – Apache
      • SSO, SSL, and LDAP
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (Public Trust) which will require successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting

     

    Desired Qualifications:  

    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other Engineering or technical discipline
