  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Requirements Manager to support our customer in the implementation of a large, complex COTS solution.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will have experience working with customers, users, and project leads in analyzing, implementing, and supporting a wide variety of IT business systems. The Requirements Manager will be responsible for the overall management of functional and non-functional requirements including, but not limited to: the day-to-day management of requirements tasks within the program, deliverables, customer relations, internal reporting, and risk management. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Development of a Technical Requirements Plan to outline the activities and processes associated with managing, tracking and updating program requirements
    • Maintenance and update of the Requirements Traceability Matrix to support development and testing efforts
    • Defining the strategy and process for identifying new functional requirements and incorporating new requirements in the program roadmap
    • Development and management of functional workflows
    • Continued development, tracking and communication of requirements with stakeholders and across the program team
    • Managing the customer relationship and providing technical direction and leadership of requirements analysis personnel
    • Facilitating discussions with technical and non–technical audiences while acting as an intermediary and translator to identify functional and technical requirements effectively Identifying and mitigating risks to the program
    • Ensuring execution of quality deliverables within established schedules
    • Collaborating with teams across the customer organization to improve processes, results, and effectiveness of requirements plans and processes
    • Reporting progress, status and associated data/metrics associated with program requirements

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline
    • Eight (8) years of demonstrated and hands-on experience in requirements analysis
    • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences effectively
    • Experience with varying SW development approaches including agile and waterfall
    • Familiarity with requirements management tools to include Rational DOORS and HP ALM
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrable team building skills
    • Must be able to travel when needed at least 5% of the time
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

    Additional Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
