AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Requirements Manager to support our customer.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will have experience working with customers, users, and project leads in analyzing, implementing, and supporting a wide variety of IT business systems. The Requirements Manager will be responsible for the overall management of functional and non-functional requirements including, but not limited to: the day-to-day management of requirements tasks within the program, deliverables, customer relations, internal reporting, and risk management. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


    • Work closely with the customer and stakeholders to understand and fulfill the product vision
    • Convey customer requirements to the Scrum teams by refining the backlog based on business value
    • Work with the Product Owner to help to shape and refine the product roadmap and vision
    • Participate in the development of story acceptance criteria
    • Capture and document business requirements in a clear and concise fashion
    • Writing of user stories, grooming backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements
    • Support management and prioritization of product, release, and sprint backlogs according to business value, complexity, and expectations
    • Provide clear and thoughtful documentation for Scrum teams
    • Continued development, tracking and communication of requirements with stakeholders and across the program team
    • Managing the customer relationship and providing technical direction and leadership of requirements analysis personnel
    • Facilitating discussions with technical and non–technical audiences while acting as an intermediary and translator to identify functional and technical requirements effectively Identifying and mitigating risks to the program      
    • Ensuring execution of quality deliverables within established schedules
    • Collaborating with teams across the customer organization to improve processes, results, and effectiveness of requirements plans and processes
    • Reporting progress, status and associated data/metrics associated with program requirements


    • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline
    • Eight (8) years of demonstrated and hands-on experience in requirements analysis
    • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences effectively
    • Experience with varying SW development approaches including agile and waterfall
    • Familiarity with requirements management tools to include Rational
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrable team building skills
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
    • Ability to travel if needed, less than 5% travel expected

    Additional Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
