AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated PMO/Delivery Management Lead to support our customers.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    We are seeking a leader of a large-scale program of national significance that leverages soft-skills, insightfulness and is capable of mastering program, political, and technology complexities to synthesize lowest risk alternatives and approaches balancing many stakeholders and competing priorities. This leader needs to understand detailed deliverable content, contribute creative direction to the delivery team of the content and tune program deliverables to account for the complexities of a challenging delivery environment. This leader is someone who understands there is not a recipe when you are directing the accomplishment of such a challenging mission and is comfortable with providing the decisions that ensure that goals are met and all constituents are kept leaning in.   

     

    The successful candidate will have diverse management consulting or PMO leadership experience and must be well-versed in managing diverse program needs. The candidate will provide management oversight for a large COTS implementation effort and should have an understanding of IT. Strong organizational management, leadership, reporting, and problem-solving skills are necessary for success. The PMO/Delivery Management Lead will be responsible for the overall performance and success of the project including, but not limited to: the day-to-day management of overall contract; managing financial and administrative aspects of the contract; project staffing, staff assignments, performance management; deliverables, customer relations, internal reporting, and risk management. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Providing strategic thought leadership and effectively leading both programmatic and technical professionals
    • Ensuring timely recruiting, staffing, and onboarding of resources onto the program
    • Collaborating with teams across the customer organization to improve processes, results, and customer experience
    • Ensuring execution of quality deliverables within established schedules
    • Identifying, reporting, monitoring, and mitigating risks to the program
    • Managing the customer relationship and ensuring customer delight
    • Managing to cost, schedule, and performance
    • Providing comprehensive periodic management reports to the customer
    • Translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
    • Working with all stakeholders to scope work, identify appropriate resources, track and report progress, develop schedules, and communicate to customers

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience on a project with at least 10 or more members; eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
    • Experience working in a COTS implementation effort
    • Able to define and implement project metrics for scope, schedule, cost, and quality
    • Outstanding written/verbal communication skills and ability to solve complex problems providing creative solutions
    • Proven leadership ability with solid interpersonal skills and demonstrable team building skills
    • Must be able to travel when needed, at least 25% of the time
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

    Additional Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience working with the DoD or VA
    • Master’s degree or advanced Professional Degree
    • PMP
