  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Management Consultant to support healthcare information technology projects for our customers.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    Working closely with a cross-functional team, the consultant will assist with a wide range of management support and executive advisory functions. The successful candidate will support a large, complex COTS implementation effort with the ability to quickly analyze and synthesize data, provide thoughtful and creative solutions, and implement through the development of work products and deliverables. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Work in cross functional teams to provide solutions and services to client challenges
    • Develop and implement strategies and plans that will require working with technical professionals to synthesize information tailored to specific audiences
    • Facilitate discussions and working sessions, capturing key decisions, actions
    • Support development of high quality presentations and work products in response to reporting and data requests
    • Provide creative solutions to complex challenges that may span a variety of disciplines whether programmatic (cost, schedule, performance), functional (change management, communications), or technical (requirements, data management)
    • Build strong relationships across the customer organization through successful and proven execution of requests
    • Support project management reporting, risk management, and communication activities

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or other related discipline (8 years of experience may be substituted)
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience including IT strategy and client-facing consulting experience
    • Ability to develop high quality and client-ready work products and deliverables
    • Ability to work well with a distributed team of internal and external partners
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
    • Excellent customer relationship management skills to include verbal and written communications
    • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
    • Ability to travel domestically, as needed (at least 10% of the time)

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience supporting large-scale PMO efforts
    • Previous Federal contracting experience, specifically with the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Defense
    • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
