  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Directory Services Engineer, Mid-Sr (Active Directory) to support healthcare information technology projects for our customers. This position is based out of Charleston, South Carolina. 

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    • Support requirements development process for new or modified Directory Services solutions
    • Coordinate with the Solutions Architecture Function to provide Directory Services subject matter expertise to define high-level solutions that determine how Directory Services solutions would be modified, scaled, or used to support business activities
    • Support, for COTS systems, procurement activities associated with the purchase or development of new systems and services associated with the Enterprise Directory Services environment
    • Identify component requirements to support interoperability with other approved directory services Engineer new or modified capabilities within Directory Services
    • Provide deployment and migration support for the consolidation of medical IT assets into a single medical Joint Active Directory (MJAD) Forest
    • Select and maintain tools and documents to support the building or acquisition of new or upgrade directory services solutions
    • Prepare system designs, such as installation and configuration guides for directory service systems and supporting tools
    • Deliver directory service automation tools and policies that allow for directory object management
    • Design, for GOTS systems, detailed engineering plans for directory service solutions that meet the requirements defined in the provided architecture
    • Provide Tier III subject matter expert-level technical support to Directory Service-oriented solutions
    • Provide integration and deployment support as Directory Services solutions migrate into the MHS environment, including support for performing the initial integration testing of deployed directory services solutions
    • Fault isolation and resolution of migration related issues as required
    • Provide Tier III technical support for Directory Service-related issues within the MHS production environment, including for those solutions that support enterprise-wide IT infrastructure capabilities such as, but not limited to:
    • Enterprise Messaging
    • General Enterprise Management Communications solutions
    • Enterprise user and network management solutions Enterprise server solutions
    • Virtualization solutions and strategies.
    • Establishing directory service trust between environments
    • Engineering directory service components of future IT services within the DoD Cloud Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 5 plus years’ related Directory services experience or Master’s Degree in technical discipline with 3 plus years related experience
    • Security+ Certification
    • Windows Operating System Certification (current OS)
    • Strong Active Directory/GPO/DNS/DFS experience
    • Strong communication skills, especially in writing
    • Ability to work well on a team, and comfortable in a lead role
    • Ability to complete assignments on time and to high quality standards
    • Travel Requirements:
    • Ability to travel up to 25%
    • Some international travel may be required.
    • Active DOD Secret Clearance required
