    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Storage/Virtual Infrastructure Engineer  to support healthcare information technology projects for our customers. This position is based out of Charleston, South Carolina.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The Engineer will provide day-to-day netapp storage and virtual infrastructure sustainment in support of a large Government agency.  Read and interpret database error messages and execute recovery of database instance, data or other pertinent database components. Engage Oracle support by submitting and monitoring the status of Oracle service requests.

    • Provide technical recommendations and solutions to implement new infrastructure and technology to include server and software engineering support.
    • Provide asset management tracking and provide onsite reports for internal review.
    • Conduct and/or attend meetings with customers and gather feedback for upcoming events.
    • Install, remove or modify network devices, servers, racks, and equipment.
    • Draft network topologies, schemes, and logical layouts.
    • Setup and troubleshoot common operating systems found in the department of defense and set up a variety of applications contained in military systems.



    • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 plus years’ related technical experience
    • 3-5 years of enterprise storage experience and management with NetApp filers
    • 3-5 years strong troubleshooting CIFS, NFS, iSCSI
    • 3-5 years of experience with ESXi 5.x/6.x
    • 3-5 years of experience with Windows W2K8/W2K12, RHEL 5.x experience a plus
    • 8570 IAT Level II Compliance
    • Must have a NCDA (7-mode), NCIE-SAN (7-mode) preferred
    • Active DOD Secret Clearance required
