    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Backend Web Developer. The position is located on-site at the customer’s facility in South Carolina.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    We are looking for an experienced Backend Web Developer who is motivated and well-versed in modern web development technologies and techniques, with strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members as well as clients. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for developing a web-based Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) application.
    • Development of all server-side logic and code, definition and maintenance of the central database structure/design and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.
    • Ideal candidate will be well-versed in writing robust, well-vetted, and fault tolerant code.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Physical Sciences, Network Security, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science with a minimum of 6 years of development experience. An additional 6 years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
    • Proficient knowledge of a back-end programming language, including Python, SQL
    • Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS3.

    • Up to 10% travel
    • Active DOD Secret Clearance required
