    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Data Architect to support our customer. This position is located at our Chantilly office.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The Senior Data Architect will provide expertise in data analysis, design, and management of organization's data architecture. The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for defining how the company’s structured and unstructured data will be stored, consumed, integrated, shared, interfaced, and reported on by different IT application systems. The Data Architect will align data architecture principles to the overarching enterprise architecture principles. This role will define the strategy, approach, and principles for data management, data quality, data integration, and data retention. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead data analysis of current state, future state, data interfaces, data models & data mapping
    • Improve data standards, data flows and conceptual flows
    • Identify, define & classify master data across the enterprise landscape
    • Define how client and application data will be stored, consumed, and integrated across the enterprise by different business applications, IT systems, and users
    • Work cross functionally to develop and maintain mappings/rules between business applications & business data and interfaces
    • Define standards for data management, analyzing current state to conceive desired future state
    • Apply architectural and technology concepts to address scalability, security, reliability, and sharing of enterprise data
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners, Architects, and Technical Leads to ensure technology decisions align with the overall Enterprise Architecture framework and roadmap
    • Create Data Mapping, Data Models, Data Interface specifications, and other data artifacts for customer deliverables including System Design Documents


    • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline with twelve (12) years of related IT experience
    • Eight (8) years of data architecture and design including hands one data engineering experience
    • Subject matter expertise in data analysis, data modeling, data profiling, data management of structured and unstructured data
    • Well versed in database design, from conceptualization to database optimization
    • Knowledge and understanding of established/cutting edge technologies, data management and data quality concepts, and industry best practices
    • Knowledge of hardware, software, business applications and systems engineering
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

    Preferred / Desired Skills:

    • Master's Degree in Management or Computer Science discipline
    • Experience in Lean Six Sigma and SDLC
    • Experience with Clinical Managed Care application development, data sharing, data interfacing
    • Experience with the VA Community Care/Referral Management systems and/or Managed care contracts
    • Clinical Experience (Nurse, PA, etc.) a plus
