  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity available for a Junior Developer to support a community/managed care program initiative. This position is located in our Chantilly, VA office.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    • Develop stable, scalable code in support of customer requirements
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide a technical solution compliant with the design and interface definitions
    • Participate in new development starting with requirements analysis and design
    • Implement test-driven development methods and support an end to end testing
    • Provides story point estimates for enhancements and new features
    • Refine user requirements and identify areas for enhancement

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other related field and at least two (2) years of related experience. An additional six (6) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
    • Experience with health exchange technologies and standards
    • Experience working within an Agile Development environment
    • Java/J2EE experience to include using Spring Boot, Hibernate
    • AWS Cloud platform experience
    • RESTful/SOAP SOA experience
    • Experience with ETL technologies such as Informatica or similar
    • Security/ATO experience to include SAML, SSL, TLS, VA PIV, etc.
    • Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle or SQL Server
    • JavaScript Framework UI experience (React.js or Angular.js preferred)
    • JSON/XML/EDI messaging format experience
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

     

    Preferred / Desired Skills:

     

    • Previous IT work experience supporting medical management programs, i.e. VA Community Care, Veteran’s Choice, and/or VA Patient-Centered Community Care Network
    • Demonstrated experience working within the Community Care or Managed Care fields to include: Referral Management, Claims Processing, Disease Management, Appointing, and/or Utilization Management
    • VA DAS Interfacing experience
    • OCR Interface experience
    • Microservices experience to include using Docker or another similar technology
    • Continuous Delivery (CD) or Continuous Integration (CI) experience
