    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Automation Test Engineer to support healthcare information technology projects for our customers. The Automation Test Engineer will serve as a part of an overall test team and will be responsible for providing requirements review, analysis, and testing for various applications. This position is located in our Chantilly, VA office.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    • Execute manual and automated testing
    • Design test scenarios, test plans, test scripts and develop executable test procedures
    • Collaborate across functional teams to produce viable test plans and define testing methodologies in a reliable and scalable environment
    • Analyze test data, configurations, and effects against requirements using the Requirements Traceability Matrix for compliance
    • Manage updates to testing-related artifacts to include test execution logs, test scripts, defect logs, the Requirements Traceability Matrix, and user guide
    • Utilize Rational Quality Manager to create, update, and track test plans and test cases linked to user stories
    • Provide test results in Rational Quality Manager within two days of the conclusion of each test event which documents the changes test and addresses defect validation
    • Submit testing results and make recommendations according to Veterans Affairs (VA) designated workflows
    • Facilitate review meetings following each test to capture lessons learned, document feedback and identify process revisions to the test planning and execution process
    • Participate in requirements analysis
    • Provide estimates during sprint planning

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or another related technical field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. An additional six (6) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
    • Demonstrated experience in Software Quality Assurance and Testing
    • Demonstrated experience with back-end interfaces and integration
    • Familiar with an Agile incremental delivery approach which supports the incremental development of high-quality, fully tested application component delivery in a timely fashion
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
    • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
    • Must be able to travel when needed at least 5% of the time

    Preferred / Desired Skills:

    • Master’s degree in an associated field
    • Previous IT work experience supporting medical management programs, i.e. VA Community Care, Veteran’s Choice, and/or VA Patient-Centered Community Care Network
    • Demonstrated experience working within the Community Care or Managed Care fields to include: Referral Management, Claims Processing, Disease Management, Appointing, and/or Utilization Management
    • Working knowledge of Fortify, Nessus, and GitHub
