  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Configuration Manager. This position is located on site at our customer's facility Charleston, SC.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    Identify, document, and verify the functional, performance, and physical characteristics of program (hardware and/or software) and associated interface systems, to control changes and non-conformance, and to track actual configurations of systems and platforms.

     

    • Provide baseline management, configuration identification, configuration control, configuration audits, formal reviews, engineering changes, and configuration management records and reports; and the use of automated tools to perform these functions.
    • Maintain the Configuration Management (CM) process for the control of all hardware and software configuration documentation, media, and parts representing or comprising the system.
    • Interface with other acquisition requirements such as design review, assurance, and other program relates disciplines.
    • Primary point of contact (POC) to the IPT Lead and sponsor for all CM matters.
    • Document all baseline and changes in configuration management system.
    • Support the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) to include development of engineering change proposals (ECP), requests for deviation (RFD) and notices of revision (NOR).
    • Maintain configuration data for hardware and software procurements, the DON Application and Database Management System (DADMS) and the DoD IT Portfolio Repository (DITPR)-DON registry.
    • Track and manage software license and software maintenances for the program.
    • Perform software license management, planning, tracking, and distribution, to include associated documents and interaction with software vendors, program representatives, and DADMS.
    • Support program personnel for generation and maintenance of baseline management documents.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience. An additional six (6) years of related experience may be substituted for degree requirement. 
    • Microsoft or other server Certifications preferred
    • Excellent oral and written skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • 8570 IAT Level II compliance
    • Ability to respond quickly and manage multiple priorities effectively, in a fast paced, high volume environment
    • Active DOD Secret Clearance required.
