  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Data Analyst to support community care network program initiatives. This position is located at our Chantilly, Virginia office.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the Data Analyst will include but are not limited to:

    • Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to raise productivity, and improve decision making
    • Manages all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report building functions of systems
    • Build and maintain a dashboard of critical metrics
    • Execute routine and ad hoc data mining and data reporting against VA databases
    • Create data visualizations and data models to provide actionable business intelligence in PowerPoint and Excel
    • Analyze data to identify trends and benchmarks
    • Identification and solidification of data quality, transformation, and business rules
    • Work with the latest data visualization techniques and technologies, and evaluate new technologies to support program initiatives

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or other related field and at least five (5) years of related experience. An additional six (6) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
    • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and problem solving with big data
    • Prior experience with one of the following tools:
      • SAP Business Objects
      • COGNOS
      • MicroStrategy
      • PowerBI
      • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
    • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

    Preferred/Desired Skills:

    • Master's Degree in a related field
    • Experience with the VA Community Care/Referral Management systems and/or Managed care contracts
    • Previous IT work experience supporting medical management programs, i.e. VA Community Care, Veteran’s Choice, and/or VA Patient Centered Community Care Network
