    AbleVets, LLC, is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets, has an opportunity available for a Senior .NET Developer to support our customer. This position is located in Washington, DC.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    • Develop stable, scalable code in support of customer requirements in .NET and SQL
    • Participate in new development starting with requirements analysis and design
    • Design and implement new functionalities and workflows
    • Implement test driven development methods, supporting end to end testing
    • Maintain, debug, integrate and enhance current system
    • Refine user requirements and identify areas for enhancement
    • Develop application database, .NET, and Authentication Service
    • Create and enhance existing role-based security in Windows environments
    • Normalize and clean up existing database
    • Assist in the implementation of Active Directory of Authentication and server
    • Perform SQL server maintenance to include backup and restore procedures, and migrating legacy data
    • Conduct load testing and report preparation
    • Contribute to peer review of plans, documentation, and code
    • Develop Operations and Maintenance Support Plans, User Manuals, and Training Plans

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other related field and at least eight (8) years of related experience. An additional six (6) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement
    • Direct hands on experience developing with .NET
    • Demonstrated experience with SQL databases such as SQL Server (2005/2008/2012)
    • Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), specifically with Agile/Scrum
    • Experience with ASP.NET and Visual Studio
    • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
