  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated OBIEE Developer. This position is located in our Washington D.C office.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will work to understand customer needs and requests, validate solutions, and define and create architectural depictions and documents to ensure seamless integration and address all customer priorities. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Work with ETL Developers, Database Administrators, Data and Business Analysts, as needed, to perform data warehousing, data modeling, data integration, data migration, ETL process, and business intelligence tasks, including recurring and ad-hoc reporting
    • Actively participate in the full System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analysis, planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and operations for routine and ad-hoc developer activities within an Agile delivery approach that supports incremental development of high-quality, fully tested application component delivery
    • Providing Subject Matter Expertise across multiple areas. Duties to include:
    • Analyzing the technical aspects involved in any change management processes relevant to report requirements
    • Analyzing existing/legacy systems architecture or data for integration and provide a recommended design to improve the stability, reliability, and availability
    • Analyzing known or potential risks and their subsequent impact
    • Using metadata and meta-model asset inventory reports to locate data and integration process assets to aid data discovery and audit reporting
    • Participate in walkthroughs of specifications, coding and test plans, as well as other construction and implementation deliverables and provide comments and feedback as necessary
    • Create, update, and maintain any metadata to be consistent with the work performed, to include artifacts such as data dictionaries, models, mappings, and technical specifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of database development experience. An additional eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
    • At least two (2) years of OBIEE development experience (preferably with using ODI and Informatica)
    • Experience in Data warehousing, Data Modeling, Data conversion, Data integration, Data Migration, ETL Process, and/or Business Intelligence
    • Experience with some or all the following languages/tools/technologies/systems/environments (specified versions or higher):
    • Oracle Database 12c
    • Oracle Business Intelligence 11g/12c
    • Oracle Data Visualization Desktop
    • Experience with large-scale system deployment
    • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

    Preferred / Desired Skills: 

    • Experience with Rational Jazz Suite
