    AbleVets, LLC, is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets, has an opportunity available for a Deputy Program Manager to support our program. This position is in Chantilly, VA.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Working with the Program Manager to manage customer relationship and ensure project teams are delivering outstanding customer service
    • Identifying and mitigating risks to the program
    • Managing and tracking program costs, schedules, and performance
    • Ensuring execution of quality program deliverables within established schedules
    • Leading/supporting Program Management Review and quality review sessions
    • Execute resource onboarding for program, monitoring/executing actions through onboarding lifecycle
    • Supporting cross-functional communications and actions to improve processes and results
    • Ensuring the organization and processes remain aligned with customer policies and external directives


    • Master's degree in Engineering or related scientific or technical discipline with ten (10) years of related experience.  An additional ten (10) years of relevant experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
    • Demonstrated and hands-on experience in program or project management or supporting PMO functions; Agile project management experience preferred
    • Able to define and implement project metrics for scope, schedule, cost, and quality
    • Able to use project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, SharePoint, and capacity models
    • Experience leveraging data and metrics to help drive decision making
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

    Perferred/ Desired Skills:

    • Current VA access is highly preferred but not mandatory for this position
    • Experience with the Department of Veteran Affairs, tools, processes and frameworks
    • PMP certification
    • CSM certification
