  • Overview

    AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Management Consultant. This position is located in Arlington, Virginia.

    Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    The Senior Management Consultant will support the planning and execution of healthcare applications and information system implementations, upgrades, and optimization. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Engage stakeholders and partners to develop interim and to-be solutions that seamlessly address integration requirements, specific to merging of disparate hospital operations and systems
    • Use knowledge of Cerner Millennium to interview stakeholders and recommend/identify work areas to support the transition of a legacy EMR system to the Cerner product
    • Elicit and prioritize new requirements that emerge to ensure client needs and expectations are met
    • Work in cross functional teams to provide solutions and services to client challenges
    • Develop and implement strategies and plans that will require working with technical and healthcare professionals to synthesize information tailored to specific audiences
    • Develop polished and high-quality work products and deliverables in the form of written documents and briefings
    • Build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders and support management of deliverable timelines and milestones

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience. An additional six (6) years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
    • Well versed in the software development life cycle and project management methodologies
    • Familiarity with healthcare standards (EMR/EHR integration experience preferred)
    • Experience with Healthcare Operations/clinical workflows and process management
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new concepts and job requirements quickly
    • Ability to travel up to 10% if necessary

    Preferred/Desired Skills:

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical field (i.e., computer science, engineering, etc.)
    • Previous project and team leadership experience
